Express Entry

Express Entry – Your Fast Track to Permanent Residency in Canada
Canada’s Express Entry system is one of the most efficient and popular pathways to permanent residency for skilled workers. It’s points-based, competitive, and if done right—with the right support—you could be on your way to Canadian PR in just a few months.
At Makland Immigration, we help applicants optimize their profile, maximize their CRS score, and navigate each step of the process with clarity and confidence.
What is Express Entry?
Express Entry is an online application system used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to manage permanent residence applications for skilled workers under three economic immigration programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is a good CRS score?
A “good” score depends on the current draw, but typically 470+ is competitive. However, scores below that may still receive invitations through PNPs or targeted draws (e.g., for tech, healthcare, or French-speaking applicants).
Can I apply for Express Entry from outside Canada?
Yes! You can apply from anywhere in the world as long as you meet the eligibility criteria and submit all required documents.
Does a job offer increase my chances?
Yes. A valid job offer can add 50 to 200 points to your CRS score, which can make a major difference.
How long does the whole process take?
From profile submission to permanent residence, the process can take as little as 6 to 12 months, depending on your CRS score and how quickly you gather documents.
What if I don’t get invited after entering the pool?
You can stay in the Express Entry pool for up to 12 months. During that time, we’ll help you boost your score or target a PNP stream to improve your chances.
